Leveraging Tools to Inform Economic Mobility
Join us for a conversation centered on leveraging occupational and economic mobility tools. This is an opportunity to learn more about the Occupational Mobility Explorer (OME) from the Federal Reserve Banks of Philadelphia and Cleveland and the Career Ladder Identifier and Financial Forecaster (CLIFF) tools from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. There will also be a panel discussion featuring representatives from organizations working to leverage data resources to serve their communities. The conversation will focus on skills-based hiring, navigating benefits cliffs, and fostering partnerships with employers, and the panel will include speakers from Jobs for the Future, the Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services, The Institute, Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association.

10:05 a.m. Occupational Mobility Explorer Theresa Dunne, Community Development Research Analyst, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia This interactive tool sheds light on career pathways in the U.S. labor market. The tool allows users to explore career paths and visualize how job skills needed for specific occupations can transfer to higher-paying occupations in the same geographical area. Users can also access resources to help them search for jobs in their region and build a skills-based resume.
10:15 a.m. CLIFF Tools John Rees, Senior Adviser, Community and Economic Development, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta The CLIFF suite of tools developed by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta models the interaction of public benefits, taxes, and tax credits with career advancement. The CLIFF suite currently includes three core tools — CLIFF
Snapshot, CLIFF Dashboard, and CLIFF Planner. Each tool is tailored to meet a client’s needs in different career stages.
10:25 a.m. Panel: Leveraging Occupational and Economic Mobility Tools Hear national, state, and local perspectives on how organizations have leveraged resources like the OME and the CLIFF tools to help their communities' foster partnerships with employers and navigate benefits cliffs and skills-based occupational mobility.
